The upcoming Apache RTR in matte blue edition was also showcased in the showroom.It is powered by a 197.75 cc, SOHC, four-valve, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine and is available with a carburetor or an electronic fuel injection. It churns out a maximum power of 20bhp at 8,500rpm, while generating 18.1Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.With a kerb weight of 148kg and a claimed 0-60kmph acceleration time of a mere 3.9 seconds, the RTR 200 appears to be a seriously quick motorcycle in its segment. The Apache RTR 2004V is expected to be a game changer for the manufacturer with its kind of finesse, performance and build quality; it uses an all-new 200cc oil-cooled engine developed completely in-house.
Based on the “RTR” platform, this naked sportbike features an aggressive styling that will certainly appeal young enthusiasts. It also features an all-digital instrument cluster with tachometer. A notable feature aboard the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is that the bike will be offered only with an electric start function and devoid of manual kick start option. Braking power comes from a 270 mm petal disc up front and a 240 mm petal disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. TVS are offering, their own Remora tyres with a 90/90 R17 size tyre present at the front and a 130/70 R17 size tyre at the rear.
Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycle today in Chennai for a starting price of Rs 88,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). Interestingly, TVS has launched the motorcycle with the option of either a carburettor or fuel injection, making it the first manufacturer to do so. The fuel injected version obviously commands a small premium, and is priced at Rs 1,00,700 (ex-showroom Delhi). Power outputs for the carburetted version of the Apache RTR 200 4V and the fuel injected version have a slight difference of half a PS with the latter churning out 21PS; the FI version obviously offers a crisper throttle response as well. Peak torque produced is identical at 17.5Nm too.
